Thank you, teacher

2012 07 15_6437_edited-1

I hear it's Teacher Appreciation Week. It's also almost the end of the school year when we traditionally give a card and/or a gift and/or flowers to the teachers at school.

I wish I could remember exactly where I saw this technique - somewhere out in blogland. Sorry if it's you and I didn't give credit. Anyway, I punched a square, rounded the corners, die cut an apple from the middle, and then added Glossy Accents all over the top. It's so puffy and I just think it's so cool! Can't wait to try it with more shapes and dies.

A little bit of ledger stamped background is perfect for this teacher card! It's a light gray so it doesn't show up really well in the photo (sorry about that.)

Hope you like it!

Fresh and clean and feminine birthday card

DSC_0007_edited-1

I love how this card turned out. I was working on another project (Anna's graduation card I posted a few days ago) and had a few pieces of patterned paper laying around. Even though they were so small they were just too pretty to throw away. I know, call me crazy! :) Anyway, I grabbed another sentiment from the Sentiment Signs stamp set, a couple more pieces of patterned paper and completed this card in just minutes. Gosh, does that feel good!

And some of you might recognize the gray and white patterned paper as the banding on the MME paper. Yep, I liked that too! Now you know for sure I'm crazy!

A bit of pink ink swiped around the edge made the top layer stand out just a wee bit and made it look even more pink and girly.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Rustic White (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Slate and Sugar (Fresh Ink)
Stamp: Sentiment Signs (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: MME

Mother's Day card

DSC_0009_edited-1

I made another card using this week's challenge sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. For whatever reason this one just really spoke to me and I couldn't resist making Mother's Day cards for my mom and MIL (yes, they're getting the same card. shhh... they'll never know. :) )

I hope you can see better in the photo above that I created the card from clear "cardstock" - it's so difficult to get a good shot of it. I adhered a piece of patterned paper to the inside of the card so that it would show through from the front. The banners are adhered to the front of the card.

I did end up putting a piece of white cardstock behind the banner so that I'd have somewhere to write. Don't have to say much! :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Stamps: Headline Alphabet and Happiness in Bloom (PTI)

Congrats to Anna

Congrats_edit

My cousin Anna is graduating high school this year. I made this card for her. I just love the pink and turquoise together and I hope she will too. Although I'm sure she'll be much more interested in the money that will be tucked inside. :)

I used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for their current challenge. It's a great one!

Congrats closeup_edit

You can see I turned the sketch on its side. It just seemed to work better with the sentiment I wanted to use. I had planned to put just one star die cut on the card but it looked a little odd. Then I saw this border die and I knew it would be perfect and it is! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

More Bazzill Card Shoppe

DSC_0022_edited-1

Another card using some Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock. Here is Pure Poppy (PTI), Jawbreaker (BCS), Summer Sunrise (PTI), and Juicy Pear (BCS). Fab colors together! Just add a simple sentiment from PTI's Think Big Favorites and you're done!

I couldn't quite capture the Jawbreaker color the way it looks IRL. It has just a tad more green to it in real life than it does in these pictures, but this is pretty close.
