Stencil it

So I picked up a stencil at Michael's a month or so ago and played with it a bit. Not super crazy about this card but not totally repulsed either. It didn't go in the circular file/recycle bin! :)

I think it's the color combo and the embossing color that's throwing me. I kind of like the funky-ness but it still seems a little off. Oh well. Maybe I have a wild and crazy friend that will get this one.

What's a party without cake?

A meeting! And meetings are no fun! Here's a birthday card I made to add to my stash for all those times when you need a card right away.

Card for a friend

A sweet and simple card I made for a friend.

I'm not sure what that white shadow is around the flower - maybe the powder dust from when I embossed it? Don't know but it's not there IRL. Maybe a ghost? lol

Cardstock: Black, white, Pure Poppy (PTI)
Other: bit of ribbon from my stash.

Happy birthday to my brother

My brother has artistic flair and he is married to an artist so I felt the need to step up my game a little bit and do some watercoloring on this card for him.

I heat embossed the circles in white then water colored over them using my ink refills and water.

To make the banner I put a piece of gray/white stripe washi tape over some white card stock and then die cut the banner using my PTI double ended banner die. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Papertrey Ink - March Blog Hop

The challenge was to create something with high gloss. How fun! I'd love to try this with more options I thought of. But, I have just the one card to share with you today.

I used Wishes Come True, the circle embossing plate, and Wonderful Words: Additions for my card. Card base is Raspberry Fizz and the gray is a Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock (a great mid tone gray.)

I added Glossy Accents to my candles. I hope you can see it in the photo! Very cool - love all the texture on this card.

Enjoy your hop and thanks for stopping by.

Way To Go...

Just a super quick card using some leftovers that were laying on my desk from some other projects.

It's super hard to photograph but I outlined the star with my Wink of Stella pen so it's all glittery and shimmery.

Leave a little sparkle...

Second post tonight! :) I have another entry for the Papertrey Inspiration Archive for March. I really like this color combo!

And here is my card:
Sparkle03_JenniferK

I hope you can see how I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen on the middle strip that says "Sparkle" - it really does sparkle IRL!

Again, my color theme followed the inspiration but the exact colors were just a tad different. My card base is Smokey Shadow, the star is Simply Chartreuse, and the word strips are Hibiscus Burst.

You'll be seeing more cards from me this week (posts are written and scheduled!) I've been crafty but just delayed photographing them in decent light, uploading, editing, and posting.

Thank You...using Papertrey Inspiration Archive

Papertrey Ink has a new feature in their monthly newsletter where they will provide color and sketch inspiration. I took a few of those ideas and made the following card.

2014 Mar 02 (2) (678x1024)

Here is the Color Play and Sketch I used.

2014 Mar 02 (3) (896x1024)

2014 Mar 02 (4) (1024x681)

My colors followed the theme but were just a tad different. I used Smokey Shadow as my card base with a strip of Simply Chartreuse. "Thank You" was heat embossed in white and then a strip of Raspberry Fizz (stamped with a white stripe (BB: Super Stripes) was added below my sentiment.

PTI MIM #153 Watercolored Background

I had some time this weekend to play along with Papertrey's Make It Monday challenge.

2014 Mar 02 (7)

I heat embossed the medallion from Mehndi Medallion on to watercolor paper and then used my ink refills to watercolor over it. I then heat embossed my sentiment onto a separate scrap of black cardstock, matted them both onto Pure Poppy card base and then add a bit of ribbon (although it doesn't really look like traditional ribbon - it's kind of rough like a twine.)

Thanks!
