CAS(E) this Sketch #294

Playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

The sketch:




I did some partial die-cutting for the word "Celebrate". It took me three tries but I got it! :) I used some clear Wink of Stella on top of the word to make it sparkle.



The background is inked with Distress ink and then inked with the same colors on top of a star stencil. It seemed a little bare still so I added a couple embossed lines and that added just enough. I tried to do sequins but I'm terrible at figuring out where they should go and how many there should be. *rolling eyes*

The snowflakes are covered in Prisma glitter and are sooo sparkly in real life. It's hard to capture that in a photograph.

 And here is my take on it. I just received this Hero Arts Grateful Leaves set and couldn't wait to use it. I watercolored my leaves using Distress Ink.



I did some gold embossing at the top of the circle.

Z-fold card for PTI Make It Monday #295

I don't think I've ever tried a shape card like this so I gave it a go. Isn't it fun?

Did you notice the herringbone pattern on the clouds? Isn't that texture fun? The sun is a SSS die and stamp set. However, the sun stamp had words in the middle that I didn't want to show. The Love Lives Here die was a perfect cover up. Serendipitous. Love when things work out like that.

You Inspire Me...

Lord have mercy, this Emma stamp (SSS) is just the coolest! So beautiful!

I heat embossed it in white, then sponged some Distress ink on top. I hadn't originally intended to sprinkle it with paint splatters but I had an inky "oops" when ink from my finger transferred to the card, so I decided to just make it blend in. Hopefully it's not too noticeable. Unless something is really noticeable I just try to keep going and make my "oopsies" work. 

The sentiment is from the Altenew Label Love set.

Playing with ME Party Animals

Oh my gosh! This Party Animals set from Mama Elephant is irrestibly cute! I had no idea how cute until I played with a friend's set, promptly fell in love with it, and quickly ordered my own set.



I started by blending some Distress ink on the background and spritzing some water on it. I die cut the cutie patootie bunny and put the cake and present in her hands. I added a little sparkle to the cake frosting and the ribbon on the gift with my Wink of Stella. Can you see it?



I'm a total beginner using Copics but this wasn't too bad. I just need to keep practicing. I wish I could remember which stamp set the sentiment came from (maybe SSS?) but I'm afraid I don't recall.

This card is on its way to one of my really good friends. Make it a great day!
