PTI Building Blocks challenge

I was able to squeeze in a card for today's challenge on Papertrey Ink.

My challenge was to use:
Pure Poppy
Raspberry Fizz
Hibiscus Burst
Fine Linen
Birthday
Heat embossing
Felt
Baker's twine
Sketch #6

Whew! Never would I have put those colors together and I was pretty intimidated, but I forged ahead. Surprisingly, I kind of like how this turned out. Who knew?! :)

I embossed the sentiment (from a Think Big set) in white on a Just the Ticket die (in Raspberry Fizz). I added a double ended banner die cut from Hibiscus Burst. I drew the border with a white pen and die cut the butterfly (from Happy Trails) from Pure Poppy felt. Who knew butterflies could be red? ;)

These challenges are great for stretching my creativity!

Happy birthday in stripes

It's more stripes! I love stripes! And polka dots, but there are none of those today. One more entry for the Papertrey Ink challenge.

I found some very old Daisy D scrapbook paper in my stash and used that as my background. Then I cut two pieces from Tag Sale 5 - one in vellum and one in Simply Chartreuse. The Happy Birthday and label stamp is from Little Labels. The stars are covered in Wink of Stella and photographed all wonky - sorry about that.

I Love You in stripes

ETA: new pics taken with daylight. Still needs color correction but they're better! ;)

I changed computers and lost my Photoshop Elements and have been using Picasa (free) until I'm ready to pony up the $100 for the PSE. Ick! I can't believe how yellow my photos are and I can't figure out how to make them better. So, I apologize for the photos over the past week. Bad lighting + bad editing = mediocre photos.

For the Papertrey Ink challenge.

I embossed the white stripes using white embossing powder on soft stone cardstock. I added a strip of pure poppy cardstock toward the bottom and then embossed in white again my sentiment (from Paper Smooches.)

Stripes

Sorry, not the movie, but that's a good one that DH often get sucked into when we see it on TV. What I'm referring to is stripes on a card. That was today's challenge on Nichole's blog for the Papertrey Ink anniversary celebration.

I used BB: Stripes to make the peach stripe (Fresh Ink Melon) and the Spring Rain stripes. I then stamped "happy birthday" from Birthday Basics (love that set! so versatile!) in Enchanted Evening. Super quick and simple and flat for mailing.

Happy birthday Papertrey Ink!

The birthday celebration continues at Papertrey Ink. Today's challenge was to create a birthday card for Papertrey Ink and then send it to the warehouse staff for all their hard work picking and packing all our fun goodies!

Here's my card, CASEd shamelessly from a Melissa Phillips project. I so admire her projects - all those beautiful layers - but I'm a CAS girl at heart and unless I have a road map, I just don't know how to add all those cute things like she does.

Here's my card...

I added some glitter from my Wink of Stella pen but I'm afraid you can't see it clearly in the pictures. Trust me that it looks great in person! ;)

Hope you're enjoying the PTI festivities.

Papertrey Ink - Monthly Moments Trading Card

I'm on a roll today! This is my fourth post!

Here's my entry for today's challenge to make a 3" x 4" Monthly Moments trading card. Since Valentine's Day is near I went with a love theme. I included some traditional and non-traditional colors in my card today, but I think it works and it's fun. The clover is a wee nod to my Irish hubby.

I used the Alpha Blocks stamp set along with the coordinating die to make a "window" for the yellow polka dot paper and the l-o-v-e letters - it was just the right size! A little washi tape along the bottom, a punched heart, and "lucky" from Wonderful Words die collection finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Papertrey Ink MIM #151 Drop Shadow Die Cuts

Here's my entry for this week's Make It Monday challenge. I shamelessly copied Betsy's sample almost exactly. :o

Also, this is only 3" x 4", so it can be an embellishment on a card or on a tag. Whatever I want!
