Lil' Inker Designs Mini Release Blog Hop

Image may contain: text

Today I'm joining some crafty friends in a blog hop for a mini release from Lil' Inker. Be sure to visit all the blogs on the hop and leave a comment at each because there are PRIZES! Two winners will each receive a sentiment stamp set and one winner will receive the cover plate and angel pets goodies. The winners will be chosen from the comments on any of the blogs. See the Lil' Inker blog for details.

Below is the set I used. Isn't it great? I have never regretted choosing kindness over anything else.

No automatic alt text available.

The design reminded me of something you might see on a blackboard so I tried to recreate that idea here.

Jennifer Kinney. Lil Inker blog hop_1.

For the sentiment I used some white Nuvo embossing powder on dark gray cardstock. I used my Copic marker to color the heart red right on top of the embossing (thanks to my friend Cheryl for that tip) to give it a little more interest. I used my finger to rub a little white ink in a few select places to resemble chalk dust.

Jennifer Kinney. Lil Inker blog hop_2.

For the frame I first used a woodgrain impression plate on the kraft cardstock and then die cut that panel using a frame die. I used some Distress ink to lightly go over the woodgrain to help make it a little more visible. All of that was then matted onto a kraft card base.

Next in line for the hop is Sarah Jay. You can find the full hop order by visiting the Lil' Inker blog. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your hop!

Jennifer!!! How are you?? I love love your chalkboard card. This is one of my favorite techniques of all times; one that I've not quite mastered and am envious of those who have. This is masterful!!! Thank you so so much for joining our special hop today. I'm so grateful!

Love your card with the chalkboard effect! Looks fab! And the saying is awesome... and touches my heart. My thought in the last couple of years when having some issues with my siblings has been "Be Kind. Be Fair." Indeed, kindness goes a long way! For sure I need to get this stamp! Love the release!
