I needed a card for my 10-year old nephew so pulled out my Grunge Me set and By The Numbers dies and made him this card. I loved how it turned out and with just a change of the colors it could be for a boy or girl of any age.
I even added some sparkle to the star! Can you see it? :)

What a great idea, to combine those dies with that set. You are right--this card could be for either gender.
