Another post from me today! Hope you're not sick of me yet. :) This time I'm playing along with the Fusion card challenge. The challenge was to use either the photo, the sketch, or both to inspire a card. As much as I love aqua and yellow together I ended up using just the sketch.
I loved the little banners in the sketch and translated it quite literally. I made a smaller, popped up panel for my sentiment and banners.

Freshly Made Sketches 188
Hello! I'm so glad I had a chance to play with this week's sketch for Freshly Made Sketches - it's a great one!
For this card I taped some ribbon to a backer piece of cardstock, then die cut a negative butterfly to place on top. I then popped up the whole thing with some foam tape. I absolutely adore how this turned out - so much white space for my CAS heart with some beautiful pops of color. :)

Sending you sunshine
This card was the result of some leftover pieces - such a happy accident, yes?
I used the Happy die and cut it from multiple colors and then inlaid them back into the banners. I stamped the clouds with stripes - one of them got stamped in two directions. The sentiment words are pulled from a few sets. I rubbed some yellow distress ink around the top of the card to imitate sunshine.

Distressing ink - night sky
I forget which blogger(s) I've watched make night skies with their blue, black, and purple inks, but I was mesmerized and decided to try it for myself. I'm really pleased with this one. After rubbing on my Distress ink I splattered it with water and then heat embossed some white and gold stars along with the sentiment.

Make A Wish
I was at a stamping retreat with some friends and borrowed every last one of the items on this card. heehee. It's good to have friends with different stuff than you so you can try it all out. And I must say I really want everything that I borrowed (of course.)
The balloons and sentiment are from Mama Elephant. I popped up the purple balloon and added some Wink of Stella to it. So sparkly IRL! The inks are the new Ranger dye inks. LOVED the bright, saturated color. However, be sure you really, really, really, REALLY clean your stamps after using them and before pressing in a different color ink because you'll likely still have color residue from the first ink. Love the colors, but just takes a little more maintenance for cleaning.

It's a banner day
I made this a month or two ago. I had lots of these little banners lying around and pulled them all together along with some bitty stamps in various stamp sets to make confetti. The banners and sentiment are from Papertrey's Heart-2-Heart series.
The gray is much darker and more legible IRL. It appears to have been washed out during the photographing of it. :)
I've been creating lots of cards. I'll try to do a better job of sharing them here! Thanks for stopping by.

PTI May Blog Hop
Thankfully it's a holiday here and I had some time today to create a card for Papertrey's blog hop.
The challenge was to use this photo below as a jumping off point for a card. I loved the rainbow of colors and the squares.
I had PTI's Building Blocks out on my desk and used that to create this quick card.
Enjoy the hop!
